Urbanpots began as a plant store and became a multi-disciplinary design and execution company — delivering residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces across Pondicherry and South India.
The founding philosophy — re-see what already exists — shapes every project. Reclaimed materials, traditional Indian craft, and material-led storytelling are not options at Urbanpots. They are the method.
Origin
I wanted a plant store. When no designer could see what I was imagining, I built it myself — and lost half the budget doing it. What came out the other side was a philosophy.
The Urbanpots store — Vibe House — was the first project. An old house in Pondicherry, converted into a botanical lifestyle space. The budget collapsed halfway through. We couldn't buy decor. So we took the doors off their frames and made them into walls, installations, and display structures.
That question — what do we already have? — became the core of everything. Every project since has begun there. Not with a mood board. With the material that already exists.
What We Do
Interior environments — homes, cafés, restaurants, restobars, resorts. Concept-to-completion, material-led, no templates.
Courtyards, gardens, resort landscapes — designed as living ecosystems, not decorative add-ons.
Reclaimed and sculptural furniture designed and built in-house. Every piece made once, for its exact context.
Handcrafted lighting in brass, wood, natural fibre, and salvaged materials. Each fixture changes how a space breathes.
Lippan, Warli, Tanjore, Moradabad brass, Dhokra — traditional Indian craft integrated as spatial systems, not decoration.
Architectural salvage, antique fragments, reclaimed wood, natural stone — sourced, evaluated, and placed with precision.
